Warm Welcome

March 30, 2019 sagedawson

Warm Welcome presents a series of intimate gestures, sketches, artifacts, and artworks culled from the studio and home of Sage Dawson. A seemingly antithetical collection of quick, intuitive, and selected forms contrasts the methodical and labor-intensive process that typifies Dawson’s approach to making. With this exhibition, Dawson extends a generous invitation for the viewer to consider the generative curiosities that surround and give rise to the works she intends for public view. The objects included in Warm Welcome epitomize the fascinations we amass to cultivate identity and a sense of place within personal space. Works also by Dwaine Crigger, joeyramonesghost, and Masumi Shibata.
